Chéticamp, N-É –Aujourd’hui, le 22 juin 2007, les représentants du gouvernement, les bénévoles, les commanditaires et la communauté se réunissent pour le dévoilement de la programmation du 31ième Festival de l’Escaouette.
Le Conseil des arts de Chéticamp, en partenariat avec La Société Saint-Pierre, travaille pour assurer le succès du Festival de l’Escaouette afin que cet événement puisse enrichir et accroître la vie culturelle et touristique de Chéticamp.
Paul Gallant, directeur générale du Conseil des arts reconnaît l’importance du travail collectif afin de faire grandir notre festival. “Nous avons beaucoup d’appui qui est très apprécié. Le Département de Tourisme, Culture et Patrimoine, la Société d’expansion du Cap-Breton, les Affaires Acadiennes, les bénévoles ainsi que plusieurs groupes communautaires sont toujours là pour appuyer nos projets.”
Le futur du Conseil des arts est positif et brillant. “On veut continuer d’offrir deux mois d’activités”, dit Paul. “Pendant les prochaines deux années, notre but est de stabiliser nos gros projets, comme l’auditorium, notre équipement et nos infrastructures”.
Pour les années à venir, Le Conseil des arts cherche toujours de nouveaux projets à réaliser. “On y pense longtemps en avance. La construction d’infrastructures est seulement le début.”, proclame Paul Gallant.
“Le Grand Cercle commence à être connu. On cherche à faire de Chéticamp une véritable destination touristique,” explique. Afin de réaliser ceci, on doit s’assurer que notre marché soit bien informé sur notre communauté et ce qu’on offre.

The excitement begins as Chéticamp festival unveils two-month line-up.

Chéticamp, NS – Today, Friday, June 22, 2006 community leaders, volunteers and sponsors gathered for the unveiling of Chéticamp’s 31st Festival de l’Escaouette.
Le Conseil des arts de Cheticamp along with La Société Saint-Pierre works hand in hand to insure the festival’s success. By working together, they continue to enhance and expand the area’s cultural and artistic activities.
Paul Gallant, director of Le Conseil des arts de Chéticamp, also acknowledged the importance of partnership and cooperation in making the festival and Le Grand Cercle a success. “We have many champions who are consistently supporting us in many ways,” smiles Gallant. “From funding partners like the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation and Acadian Affairs to volunteers and community groups, there are a lot of people working to make our efforts a success.”
Le Conseil des art’s future is positive and bright. “We want to continue offering two months of activities,” states Paul. “During the next two years, our goal is to stabilize our main projects, such as our auditorium, equipment and infrastructures.”
Le Conseil des arts is always looking for ways to grow and expand. “We are always thinking ahead. The construction of infrastructures is only the beginning for us”, proclaims Paul Gallant.
“Le Grand Cercle is beginning to be a recognized event. Our ultimate goal is to make Chéticamp the ultimate destination for tourists,” explains Gallant. In order to succeed, Le Conseil des arts, with many other partners, must gain the attention of their target market and show them what Chéticamp has to offer.
