1. La Place des arts Père Anselme-Chiasson (anciennement
la section de l'école NDA contenant l'auditorium)
Une fois les travaux terminés, cet espace comprendra
une mini-galerie d'arts, des salles de répétitions, des bureaux
et une salle de spectacles de 400 places dotée d'équipements
modernes.
2. Le Grand Cercle
Afin d’allier la poursuite de l'excellence artistique et le développement économique
de notre région, le Conseil va investir dans la scénographie,
les costumes et équipements du spectacle du Grand Cercle qui sera
présenté à chaque été pour une durée
d’une semaine à l’aréna de Chéticamp à partir
de l’été 2006 pour arriver à trois semaines de prestation
à l’été 2008.
3. Le camp artistique
En partenariat avec l'université Dalhousie, la construction du
camp artistique va se faire dans les deux prochains étés
grâce à la participation d’étudiants en architecture
du Canada, de l'Irlande, de la Norvège et de l'Islande. Nous
allons accueillir, du 23 juillet au 6 aoft 2006, des campeurs pour nos
premières deux semaines de camp. En 2009, nous espérons offrir
8 semaines de camp.
Saviez-vous que depuis sa fondation en novembre 1999, le Conseil des arts...
- a produit, ou assisté la production de 620 spectacles attirant 96 204 spectateurs pour une moyenne de 155 personnes par spectacle;
- a réalisé cinq tournées internationales en France et aux États-Unis;
- a réalisé plus de 11 tournées scolaires à travers la Nouvelle-Écosse pour un total de 103 spectacles pour enfants;
- a produit 36 oeuvres originales d’écrivains
et chorégraphes de Chéticamp
et de l'Acadie;
- a fourni plus de 57 emplois d'été pour les
jeunes dans le domaine des arts, c'est-à-dire 570 semaines de travail;
- a fourni un programme de formation artistique à au-delà de
600 jeunes, soit 3 100 heures d'enseignement des arts;
- a coordonné à chaque année, les activités de 300 à 400 artistes et bénévoles;
- a investi au-delà d'un million de dollars dans l'économie
locale durant les derniers cinq ans;
- s'est mérité la distinction sans contredit
d'un des conseils des arts régionaux les plus actifs en Nouvelle-Écosse
et un des seuls au Canada ayant une entente de co-gestion avec un conseil scolaire,
soit le CSAP;
- a oeuvré à la création de spectacles
et de concepts innovateurs comme marionnettes d'eau, le théâtre
du Petit Cercle, les spectacles black light, etc.

Once the renovations completed, this area
will consist of a mini art gallery, rehearsal hall, office space and
a fully furnished theatre with modern equipment and with a seating capacity
of 400 spectators which can also double as a cinema.
Le Grand Cercle
In pursuit of artistic excellence and with a need to contribute to the overall
economic development of our region, the Conseil’s long term strategy will see a substantial investment in scenography, equipment and costumes for the Grand Cercle. The show will be presented for one week at the NIRCA arena in Chéticamp
beginning in the summer of 2006 and build up to a three-week schedule in
the summer of 2008.
Artistic camp Le Petit Cercle
In partnership with Dalhousie University and other partners, we will construct the artistic camp over the next two summers thanks to the participation of architectural students from Canada, Ireland, Norway and Iceland. We will welcome, from July 23 to August 6, 2006, participants for our first two weeks of camp. We will phase in the camps so that in 2009, we will offer 8 weeks of camp in a variety of artistic disciplines.
Did you know that since its inception in November 1999, the Conseil des arts...
. has produced, or assisted in the production of some 620 shows for
some 96,204 spectators for an average of 155 persons per show;
- has produced 5 international tours in France and the United States;
- has produced more than 11 school tours throughout Nova Scotia for a total of 103 school shows;
- has created and produced some 36 original works by Cheticamp and Acadian writers and choreographers;
- has created more than 57 summer jobs for students in the arts; that is, 570 weeks of employment;
- has provided a artistic training program to over 600 school students; that is, 3100 hours of arts training;
- has coordinated activities for 300 to 400 artists and volunteers each year;
- has earned, without question, the distinction of one of the most active regional arts council in Nova Scotia and the only one in Canada to have a co-management agreement with a school board, namely CSAP;
- has been a leader in the creation of innovative show concepts such as the water puppets, the award winning Petit Cercle theatre, backlight shows, etc.
